In Death and Other Details, Anna Collier is the daughter of Lawrence Collier. Lauren Patten plays Anna.
Anna Collier is expected to take over the company of her father, Collier Mills. However, nepotism is not at play here.
Anna herself is a shark when it comes to business. She is married to a retired clickbait journalist, Leila. Imogene and Anna are childhood friends and quite close.
During the celebration of Lawrence’s retirement on Varuna, Anna expects her father to announce her as the CEO. Unfortunately, nothing such as that happens, which disappoints her.
Anna’s goals
Anna is expecting to become CEO because she has put in work to save her father’s company.
When Imogene, Sunil, and Rufus access the Colliers’ books, they learn that the Colliers are broke. Anna is fighting hard to keep the deal with the Chuns in the air.
The Chuns might be making a sizable investment in Collier Mills, but they don’t trust the Colliers, which is why they had hired Rufus Cotesworth to find dirt on them.
A murder on Varuna further ruins the chances of a deal taking place between the Chuns and the Colliers. The family matriarch of the Chuns, Celia Chun, is spooked.
Anna does her best to keep this deal intact. She knows that even the Chuns can’t afford to lose this deal. After all, this is how the Chuns can set foot in the US market and gain exposure to a heritage name.
Anna’s relationship with Eleanor
Anna once had a fling with Celia Chun’s granddaughter, Eleanor, in business school.
Eleanor still seems to have feelings for Anna. It can be noticed in their conversations.
Eleanor claims that Anna was supposed to wait for her. However, Anna confesses that she did wait. It’s Eleanor who left, while Anna sat around crying for six months.
Anna’s hard work
In the third episode, it is revealed that Anna made some decisions, and now the Colliers are out of cash, but Anna was actually cleaning up the mess made by Lawrence.
Celia Chun is ready to join Colliers again, but she wants to hear from the entire family, not just Anna, which sees Anna telling Lawrence how far she can go to bring the Chuns back on the table.
Anna’s spirit convinces Lawrence to hand her the reins. However, Anna says that she is not the CEO until he announces it.
