Andie Bell: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder character explained

As Pip begins investigating Andie’s murder case, she learns all of Andie’s secrets. In A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, India Lillie Davies plays Andie Bell.

Andie Bell was Pip’s senior in school. Andie was a popular student from a well-to-do family and dated the school’s head boy, Sal.

In her senior year of high school, Andie suddenly disappeared. Shortly thereafter, Sal confessed to her murder and took his own life, leading to the police closing the case.

Andie’s secrets remain hidden until Pip takes on her murder case for a school project five years after her death.

Andie’s desperate need for money

Andie and her sister, Becca, enjoy going to parties, including rave parties, despite the disapproval of their father, Jason. Due to this, they are subjected to Jason’s anger.

He tries to control his daughters’ lives with strict rules, which the sisters continue to break. Jason’s anger affects Andie so much that she starts making self-destructive choices.

Andie dates Dan at a young age and later has a relationship with her teacher, Elliot. Additionally, her grades start slipping.

She only gets to be in a healthy relationship when she falls in love with Sal. However, she continues to feel overwhelmed by her father’s control and temper and decides to run away from home.

She starts saving money by selling drugs at rave parties. No one suspects a girl like her of drug dealing, but it leads to conflicts with Sal, who tries to stop her.

Andie even sells date-rape drugs to Max Hastings. Andie’s best friend, Nat, warns her about Max Hastings, but Andie ignores the advice, resulting in a falling out.

Andie saves enough money to leave home, but her plans are foiled when her father finds out about them and takes away her money.

Sal, who supports Andie’s decision to leave, then offers to help her settle in a new town with whatever money he has, and Andie decides to leave the following day.

In a last-ditch effort to get some money, Andie goes to Elliot’s house and threatens to expose their past relationship if he does not pay her.

Elliot refuses to be blackmailed. His refusal to give her the money leads to a confrontation during which Andie injures her head.

The events leading to Andie’s death

After her confrontation with Elliot, Andie does not seek medical help. She returns home, where Becca reveals to her that she has been sexually assaulted and asks Andie to accompany her to the police station.

It is then that Andie realizes that Nat was right about Max. He used the drugs he bought from her to drug and sexually assault Becca at a party.

Andie cannot help her sister without getting exposed for drug dealing. She refuses to go to the police with Becca and tells her that she is leaving the next day.

In a fit of anger, Becca pushes Andie, who injures her head a second time that night. The second injury results in her death. Becca then disposes of Andie’s body to cover up the truth.

Andie’s body remains missing, and Sal is wrongfully suspected of her murder until Pip solves the case five years later.
