All relationship arcs in Love is Blind season 4 premier explained

Love is Blind season 4 premiered on Netflix on March 24, and the contestants have already gotten paired up in relationships that range from healthy to absolutely dire.

The fourth installment of Love Is Blind kicked things off with the contestants arriving at the arena with hopes and wishes for a romance that blooms into a relationship that lasts forever, and they have only four weeks to make the most important decision of their lives.

It starts off with blind dating in pods that are separated by a wall and while they can’t see each other, the contestants have to make their decisions based on heart-to-heart conversations.

Thereby, they have to make some tough decisions as some relationships are cut short to make other ones bloom and take them to the next level. After getting engaged with their loved ones, the contestants test the waters ahead during a stay at a luxurious resort in Mexico.

Some couples taste the bliss of great decisions and some suffer the bitter realizations that preconceived notions can often lead to whiplashes when reality unfolds. Here’s how all the couples reach their conclusions at the end of Love Is Blind‘s five-episode premier:

Tiffany & Brett

Brett is 35-year-old and Tiffany is a year older. She has always held out for hope that she will get that special someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with. With her age, she has reservations regarding her future in the show.

However, Brett arrives as just the perfect match for Tiffany, and the two instantly hit it off. Their conversations are adorable and they realize it themselves just how many things they agree on.

There’s a slight hitch in their blooming romance when during one of the pivotal moments in their blind date, just as Brett gets on with professing his love for her, Tiffany falls asleep. However, they later overcome that bit of hurdle and get engaged.

Their resort stay in Mexico is nothing but great. While things don’t instantly get the steamiest between them, as Tiffany is on her period, they do get around that for the first nights and eventually have proper sex, with both of their verdicts being highly positive regarding it.

From physical intimacy to emotional connection, Tiffany and Brett are the healthiest couple in Love Is Blind season 4 thus far, and have already been shown to be the first successful couple by the time the installment concludes.

Paul & Micah

Micah finds two men on blind dates who pique her interest the most. These are Paul and Kwame, and she has great chemistry with both of them.

Kwame falls a bit too hard for Micah, and while she’s into him and there are many likes they both share, Kwame’s pace becomes rather too quick for Micah, and she goes with Paul over him at the end.

Kwame is shattered at the abrupt turn of events and gets hurt by her rejection, while Micah feels bad but is ultimately happy with her decision to choose Paul. The two have a great time at the resort, even when they don’t have nearly as sizzling an intimacy as some other couples do.

However, both of them act promiscuously in the way they get rather flirtatious with others. Micah tries to talk and interact with Kwame time and again, much to Chelsea’s understandable chagrin. Paul, meanwhile, develops a flirtatious chemistry with none other than Micah’s bestie, Irina.

Jackelina and Marshall

Jackelina and Marshall are total opposites. She’s loud and extroverted, and Marshall is more of an introverted romantic. However, one thing they do have in common is their search for love.

Jackelina is also interested in Josh, with whom her blind dates go well until he becomes a bit too intense. Resembling her personality makeup, Josh is active and loudly confident.

However, when he tells Jackelina that he’s only in the game for her and would leave if they aren’t the endgame, she feels conflicted over giving him a “No” for an answer. She doesn’t want to be the reason somebody goes home and the potential repercussions of that weigh on her.

Marshall is also miffed about it and becomes upset with Josh, eventually addressing said things with him. Later on, however, Jackelina makes her decision and claims that Josh is an adult and can take care of his feelings, as she chooses Marshall and gets engaged with him.

At the resort, they go through a bit of a rough patch as Jackelina is struck by the baggage that her family back at home affects her with. She has problems back at home that give her emotional whiplash, but Marshall takes care of her with commendable devotion.

They are at their strongest at the end of the Love Is Blind season 4 premiere.

Chelsea & Kwame

Chelsea is honest and sincere with Kwame since day one of their pod datings. Kwame likes her but not as much as Micah. So when he gets incredibly upset at Micah dumping him, Chelsea hears of it and gets upset as well.

However, she puts it aside to hit it off with Kwame again and their second innings gradually improve their dynamic. It soon becomes clear that Chelsea is much more invested in Kwame than he’s in her.

After their engagement, they go through a shaky phase as Kwame can’t help himself but gravitate toward Micah time and again. Even when Chelsea is emotionally and physically just as sincere as she’s been, Kwame’s mind always starts wandering to Micah.

He says he needs closure as he’s not gotten over his breakup with Micah, but it understandably upsets Chelsea, who can’t bear the sight of her fiance spending so much time with Micah. She confronts him about it and asks for clarification.

It’s sort of an ultimatum and Kwame assures her that he won’t be chasing after Micah, albeit his need for “closure” still remains. At the end of the five first episodes of Love Is Blind season 4, Kwame and Chelsea are improving upon their relationship, even if Kwame’s heart seems uncertain still.

Zach, Irina & Bliss

Zach has a pretty heartbreaking past and vulnerabilities that he shares with two women during the pod dating — Irina and Bliss. While the cake-baking and compassionate Bliss comes across as an intelligent woman to him, Zach takes Irina to be a fierce lady.

Unbeknownst to him, Irina proves to be a really mean girl who later influences his opinion of Bliss and when he breaks up with Bliss, he has cried his heart out. However, he perhaps feels worse when he meets Irina outside the pod and gauges her reaction to the physical him.

Irina is instantly repulsed by Zach and throughout the entirety of their stay at the Mexican resort, she constantly rejects his romantic advances and doesn’t let him express any sort of affection. Zach finally addresses it and calls it off with her.

However, in a first for Love Is Blind, Zach makes a detour and meets Bliss again, expressing his regret at making the wrong decision. Before their conversation can go anywhere, though, the episode rolls the credits, leaving the future of their relationship ambiguous.
