In Jack Ryan season 4, Ade Osoji is an oil lobbyist from Nigeria who understands his country better than anyone else. Okieriete Onaodowan plays Ade Osoji.
At the 8th annual Nigeria Foundation gala, Ade Osoji leaves quite an impression on everyone, including Director Wright. He knows how his country works, what it’s facing since the death of President Udoh, and why they can no longer rely on the Americans.
Wright sees him as quite a character. When Interim President Okoli invites Wright to their country to get to the bottom of President Udoh’s assassination, Wright contacts Ade and asks him to tag along with her.
Wright likes to think she should have someone like Ade on her side if she is going to have a conversation with the President of Nigeria about their country’s case. When Ade joins her, he assures her that he knows Nigeria better than Okoli does.
Ade’s past
Ade was born in Nigeria but was not raised here. He lived in extreme poverty in a small village that was constantly raided by soldiers. He watched his father get killed.
He grew up wanting to fight until the Mormon missionaries came, restored the village, and raised enough money for him to get out of Nigeria and go to school. Now, Ade sees Nigeria as not just a country but an opportunity; it’s a strategic hub.
Wright seeks more of Ade’s help
Ade’s file suggests that he was a political consultant for years before taking his current job. Ade admits that he was a strategist for three senatorial races and one presidential race.
Senator Henshaw calls Wright just another Jack Ryan and advises her to first deal with everything going on in their home. Wright talks about this advice with Ade, who, without hearing it, tells her to take it.
Ade hears how Jack Ryan and Wright work synonymously but deduces that Jack could be problematic. He reminds Wright of her position and encourages her to take Henshaw’s advice. Ade’s words hint that he might be onto something that Wright doesn’t know yet.
Ade is part of the Silver Lotus triad’s plot
Wright learns that Ade is part of the Silver Lotus triad’s plot when she comes across Ade’s picture in Dominic Sanderson’s trophy case.
Wright figures out that Ade has been paying for Dominic’s hospital bills and, in exchange, using his name for Miller’s shell companies that fund Miller’s black ops program. The Silver Lotus triad used this program to open gates to the US for them.
Ade realizes that he can’t escape, so when Jack Ryan is kidnapped by Zeyara Lemos, he offers Jack’s location to Wright for immunity.
Jack is found, but Wright is told about it a bit late. By then, Ade had received his immunity. However, he is still arrested for the murder of Miller. He has immunity from all CIA matters but not local homicide investigations.
When Jack Ryan reveals Senator Henshaw’s corruption, he mentions that Henshaw allowed the bombs inside the US because Ade offered large-scale donations to his reelection campaign.
