Addam and Alyn of Hull: House of the Dragon characters explained

Addam and Alyn of Hull are part of Corlys Velaryon’s fleet in House of the Dragon. Clinton Liberty plays Addam and Abubakr Salim plays Alyn.

Addam and Alyn of Hull are brothers and presumed to be the bastard children of Corlys Velaryon.

Alyn is the older brother who doesn’t want anything to do with his parentage while Addam hopes to be seen and acknowledged by their father.

Alyn saved Corlys from the brink of death while they were in the Stepstones and Corlys says that he owes him his life.

However, Alyn doesn’t want anything in return and just wants to do his duty as part of the fleet.

Addam calls him foolish for not taking advantage of the situation because they could be ruling as his children.

Taking on the responsibility

During one of her visits to the docks, Rhaenys takes a moment to admire Alyn because she is aware of who he is.

She remarks that he must have had a beautiful mother. Corlys later tells Alyn that he would like him to serve as his first mate.

Alyn is reluctant but Corlys insists that it would be an honor to take on the position. Addam once again reminds his brother that he is being foolish for ignoring their birthright.

Alyn is seen shaving his head at that moment, suggesting that he has the natural white locks passed down by his father.

While Addam is out near the beach, Seasmoke flies above him. The dragon had previously killed Ser Darklyn after Rhaenyra tried to find a new rider for it.

Seasmoke faces Addam and then exchanges a look of acceptance as Addam is later found riding the dragon.
