Something unimaginable has just happened. Amazon Prime Video India has announced 14 new Amazon Original seasons and series due to premiere in 2020.
In a video announcement on its YouTube channel, the streaming giant captioned it as the new era of entertainment, introducing nine brand new Amazon Originals and five new seasons. And get this, the cheeky buggers have promised us that there’s a lot more where that came from.
Well, you could say that ‘Bhagwan jab deta hai, toh chhapar phaad ke deta hai’ (God does not shower his blessings on us very often but when he gives he is bountiful).
Furthermore, the announcement comes after the success of the Amazon Prime India event, held in Mumbai, last week, where Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, revealed that Prime Video is prospering in India more than any other country. Bezos said he also intends to double investment.
The five Amazon Originals being renewed for new seasons include Mirzapur (Season 2), Inside Edge (Season 3), Breathe (Season 2), Four More Shots Please (Season 2) and The Family Man (Season 2).
The upcoming new Amazon Originals are The Forgotten Army, Bandish Bandits, Mumbai Diaries – 26/11, Dilli, Paatal Lok, The Last Hour and Gormint, along with two unscripted Originals Sons of Soil: Jaipur Pink Panthers and Comicstaan Tamil.
Make sure you adjust your toilet breaks and snack intervals in accordance to your binging schedule, because when we say you’re going to be glued to the screen, YOU ARE GOING TO BE GLUED TO THE SCREEN (and probably super-glued to your couch). Period.
