John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch: A pre-festive special

Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming special with John Mulaney.

The comedian has partnered with Netflix and come up with something different and exciting befitting this decade’s end.

The Emmy award-winning entertainer’s new show is a mix of children’s shows, musicals and obviously, comedy. That’s right, the children’s musical comedy titled ‘Johan Mulaney and The Sack Lunch Brunch’ will surely entertain audiences in a satirically unique way.

The one minute clip is a fun montage of various characters performing various skits. Apart from the children, the show stars a host of different characters who are being played by varying actors.

John introduces the show as:

I’m John Mulaney and I am a 37-year-old man. The Sack Lunch Bunch is a group of children ages 8-13 who are more talented than me.  In this special, we are joined by celebrity guests like David Byrne, Tony Award Winner Andre De Shields, Natasha Lyonne, Annaleigh Ashford, Shereen Pimentel, Richard Kind, and Jake Gyllenhaal from the movie Zodiac. The result is a collage of Broadway-calibre showstoppers, comedy sketches for all ages, meditations on the unknown from children and adults, and a papier-mache volcano. It’s funny, musical, joyous, anxious, and surprisingly profound.

John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch has been directed by Rhys Thomas who is known for his previous work such as Saturday Night Live, John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid and Documentary Now. The special will be premiere on Netflix on December 24, 2019.
