Release date for Sex Education season 2 announced

The release date for the eagerly-anticipated season 2 of Netflix’s popular comedy series Sex Education has been revealed; it will be returning on January 17, 2020.

The first season revolved around Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), a boy with a sex therapist for a mother.

After Otis discovers he has a knack for sex therapy himself, he teams up with Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) to start a ‘sex therapy clinic’ in school.

It was well received by the fans as well as critics; rated 8.3 on IMDb and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix’s official Twitter account for UK and Ireland made the announcement with a series of posters with character portraits:

Filming for a second instalment started earlier this year, with the platform posting behind-the-scenes photos of the cast reading scripts.

The main cast for Sex Education also comprises Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee Lou Wood, Connor Swindells and Kedar Williams-Stirling.

All eight episodes for the second season will be released together.
