13 Reasons Why S3 final trailer adds to the suspense

Netflix has released the final trailer for its acclaimed teenage drama 13 Reasons Why’s third season. Shifting its attention from Hannah Baker’s (Katherine Langford) suicide in the first two seasons, this one is based around the mystery behind Bryce Walker’s (Justin Prentice) murder.

The trailer starts with an announcement at Liberty High School that “Bryce Walker was found and has been confirmed dead.” And so begins the police investigations and high tensions among students.

Walker’s mother talks to a police officer and reveals that she is adamant to find her son’s killer. The officer promises to figure out what exactly happened to her son. Meanwhile, Walker’s peers struggle with the fact that one of them could be responsible.

It is further addressed that Bryce Walker hurt a lot of people and anybody, including Clay Jenson (Dylan Minnette), could have shot him. Jenson is a major suspect and he is shown trying to convince the authorities of his innocence.

However, the trailer obviously leaves a lot of gaping holes and creates an intense atmosphere. Every character is shown hiding something important about the murder which may have serious consequences.

The intense clip ends with Jenson exclaiming: “This whole fucking world is better without him in it,” hinting at his involvement. 13 Reasons Why was first released in 2017 and became Netflix’s second most-viewed season within 30 days of release.

The second season released in 2018, but did not receive positive reactions on release and holds a mere 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The third season starts streaming on 23 August 2019 on Netflix.

The first trailer for season 3 was released on 1 August 2019 and sent the world into a frenzy with this shocking plot setting. The show was also under fire for its depiction of suicide and had to omit a key scene because of complaints.
