I would love to do it if there’s something that excites me: SRK on acting in Netflix show

Shah Rukh Khan admitted in an interview with film critic Rajeev Masand that he would consider acting in a show on Netflix if something exciting comes up.

“I would love to do it if there is something that excites me. Even a film for Netflix. But nothing has been offered yet,” the popular actor said.

During the course of the interview, he added that he was once a television actor and to him, streaming platforms have never been an issue.

He went on to praise Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, which is set to hit Netflix later this year, to stress on how huge platforms have become.

Khan has already begun collaborating with Netflix for various shows and films on a production level, although he did quash the reports that he was looking to adapt Money Heist as a Bollywood film.

The confirmed slate of shows and films includes his production Bard of Blood, which premieres on 27 September. The first look for the series was recently revealed.

His production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, is also involved in creating a horror show, for the streaming platform, titled Betaal, written and directed by Patrick Graham.

Furthermore, he revealed that he is working on one other show with Netflix but it appears to be in its very initial stages.

Apart from the shows, he is producing Class of 83, a film starring Bobby Deol as the lead.

Khan had earlier stated: “Netflix has shown that Indian stories have a global audience and we would love to use this platform and its reach to tell more stories.”

It’s an exciting time for streaming platforms with more and more Bollywood actors featuring in digital shows and movies. And being backed by ‘King of Bollywood’ doesn’t hurt.
