List of popular shows cancelled by Netflix – 2019

Netflix has been creating and streaming quality content day after day. However, it has also axed some shows during the year to make space for new ones. Here’s a roundup of all shows that we have to say goodbye to:

  • The OA

Netflix’s original sci-fi mystery drama has been cancelled after two seasons. The show revolved around a woman (Brit Marling) who was missing for seven years. While she was blind prior to her missing, she returned to life with her sight intact. Netflix has claimed that after “16 mesmerising chapters”, they still look forward to working with the team of the show.

  • Jessica Jones

Marvel’s association with Netflix has led to many great shows with Jessica Jones being one of them. It was announced earlier this year that the latest season of the show will be its final one. Krysten Ritter, the protagonist of the show, took to Instagram to show her love for the five years invested in the series.

  • Tuca & Bertie

The animated series featuring the voices of comedian Ali Wong and Tiffany Haddish will not release another season. Lisa Hanawalt, who also created characters for the hit show BoJack Horseman, besides Tuca & Bertie, took to Twitter to announce the cancellation.

  • Chambers

The Uma Thurman starrer supernatural drama has been cancelled after its first season. The series, in general, did not create love and support from critics. It managed to create a mere 41 percent approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes. The 10-episode series starred debutant Sivan Alyra Rose as the lead. Fans took to Instagram’s comments section to ask for a new season.

  • Designated Survivor

After ABC cancelled the political drama, Netflix picked it up for another season. However, despite cancelation, the 50 episodes that revolve around President Kirkman’s (Kiefer Sutherland) story will be available on the streaming giant. The show will not release a fourth season.
