Stranger Things to return for season 4 very soon

Netflix unveiled the third season for one of its most famous shows, Stranger Things, this month. It was very well received yet again by fans and critics alike. However, now that a lot of people have seen it, the next season cannot come soon enough.

Luckily for everyone, It seems that the wait wouldn’t have to be too long. According to a new list on Production Weekly, the next season of the series is set to begin filming from October this year.

Netflix has not made any public announcement on the topic. However, showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer have previously commented on there being a season four to the series. It seemed almost necessary after the cliffhanger ending of the third season.

There are no details on the storyline for the upcoming season or the year in which it will be set. But, according to comicbook.com, there are “contracts in place for the cast to return”. David Harbour, who (SPOILER ALERT) had a mysterious ending in the previous season may return as well.

The Duffer brothers have said that the next season will be very different compared to the previous ones. Matt Duffer mentioned that the next season is going to “open up a little bit, allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins.”

Ross Duffer also said, “We don’t want to write ourselves in a corner, so we try to have these early discussions with the writers just to make sure that we’re setting ourselves up to go in the right direction.”

Stranger Things first streamed on Netflix three years ago this week. It has exploded into immense popularity ever since.

According to Nielsen, the third season was watched by a record 26.4 million US viewers over the 4th July holiday weekend this year.

Furthermore, over 40.7 million global accounts had watched the show during that weekend.
