Season 2 showrunner Vikramaditya Motwani said in a statement: “We’re extremely excited to finally be able to share with the fans of Sacred Games what they’ve all been waiting for with bated breath – the date of its release on Netflix! This season is bigger, more compelling, and totally unexpected.”

Be prepared to discover a different side to each character as we take the audience on a tremendous journey, and address questions left unanswered last season,” he added.

Viewers have been waiting with bated breath for the show to return ever since the first season’s intense cliffhanger.

The trailer indicates that the focus will again be on Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin, who play Shahid Khan and Batya Abelman respectively, were revealed as the new entries for the season in May.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan, Sacred Games Season 2 will focus on Gaitonde’s ‘third father’, who’s played by Pankaj Tripathi.

The show is based on the critically acclaimed 2006 novel by Vikram Chandra with the same name.
